LIBRARY PROFILE
We are a small but vital organisation dedicated to providing local residents
with a friendly, knowledgeable and comprehensive library service.
Funding is maintained through members' annual subscriptions, grants,
and the generosity of some donors.
The Library staff all serve in a voluntary capacity.
Our hard working Executive Committee (also volunteers) administer and
oversee all processes required for the Library to function in an efficient
manner.
OUR COLLECTION
The collection is both modern and classic. We endeavour to provide current,
up-to-date and popular publications in fiction and non-fiction. There
are also many excellent books from earlier times. The junior library contains
titles to suit 'toddlers to teens'.
Fiction categories include mysteries, thrillers, science fiction, westerns,
romances, general works and short stories.
Non-fiction categories cover autobiographies, biographies, gardening,
craft, cooking/food, travel, architecture/art, religions, science, D.I.Y.,
Australiana and others.
The Maldon Collection comprises books which reflect the lifestyle of the
goldfields in the Victorian and Edwardian eras as well as books which trace
the development and history of the town. Local authors both from the past
and the present are represented in this section.
